BUFF BLACK PHOTOGRAPHY

North Cascades

The carved and jagged Picket Range rises above clouds in antique morning light during late summer.

It’s no wonder why the North Cascades are called the Alps of America. They are some of the most jagged peaks in the United States and the area as a whole is more unexplored than most other National Parks. It is bisected by only one paved road called the North Cascades Highway (Washington State Route 20), and only one other dirt road enters the park, making it difficult to explore without donning a backpack and hiking into the wilderness. Buff Black has backpacked many of the trails and bagged a few peaks as well. When the light gets nice, he will get the camera out and shoot photos of the beautiful mountainscapes and glorious sunsets and sunrises that make the park so incredible.
